MUNCH INSPIRED

Inspired by the iconic images from Edvard Munch, Wesley Channell and body art painter, Alexis Logwood emulate the emotion and mood that influenced his pieces. Munch lived a life unproved by his family and suffered from strong mental anguish that is visible from the deeper tone in his paintings. He was encouraged to create in his repressed state of mind, thus developing a symbolic style that depicts an internal view from objects, rather than an external view. The Munch Inspired series echos this emotion and inner subjectivity through deep tones, contrasting brush strokes, and a human being in their most raw form. This Human Canvas series is aimed to be an outlet or catharsis for the viewer to indulge, like Munch, and to let their anxieties go.
